*The timber storage boxes supplied with Japanese chisels are generally quite basic. The time, cost and energy are placed on the tool, not the box. Higher quality boxes can be purchased but these are woodworking tools of course, make your own if you'd like something better :)

Crafted with a very hard steel cutting edge and soft steel body, Japanese chisels retain a sharper edge than many western chisel counterparts, but remain easy to sharpen. It is recommended you sharpen Japanese chisels at low heat, using whetstones instead of (dry) grinding machinery.
