These Nagura stones by Suehiro Japan are solid performers, great value and very popular.

 

Used as a honing tool to help raise and refine slurry on Japanese whetstones, Nagura are also used for "dressing"... ie: removing imperfections and smoothing a whetstone surface to keep them at optimum performance.
